Daniel Kwasnitschka is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of South Carolina. He is part of the Management Science department at the Darla Moore School of Business. Kwasnitschka holds a Doctor of Science degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich). His research focuses on exploring the behavioral effects of new digital technologies in manufacturing and service organizations.
Kwasnitschka earned his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and completed his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at the same institution. During his academic pursuit he has also gained international experience at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Arizona State University.
Kwasnitschka's ongoing research delves into the human-technology interface within manufacturing and service organizations. He aims to comprehend the ramifications of compromised human-technology interactions and offers insights on enhancing their efficacy.
Kwasnitschka's practical experience spans roles in data analytics, business intelligence, and management consulting. Notably, he has worked with prestigious organizations such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW Group, and Audi AG, gaining valuable insights into different facets of the industry.
Kwasnitschka has received recognition for his scientific contributions, including winning the Nigel Slack Teaching Innovation Award from the European Operations Management Association twice and being nominated for several prestigious awards such as the Academy of Management Annual Meeting OSCM Chan Hahn Award.
In addition to his research and practical experiences, Kwasnitschka is deeply involved in teaching and student engagement activities. He has delivered dedicated lectures on production planning and control using new technology at ETH Zurich and was invited for guests lectures at the University of Cologne.
Actively engaged in the academic community, Kwasnitschka served in leadership roles at ETH Zurich, contributing to strategic and diversity initiatives. His dedication extended to the co-presidency of the scientific staff association, actively participating in departmental governance.
